For Fleet Companies, The vehicles they run are the essential backbone in the everyday functioning and operations of the company. Without these vehicles they simply could not survive. This in turn with the rising cost of fuel has made controlling the cost of fuel absolutely critical.

Many businesses still purchase fuel using credit and debit cards, via a pay and reclaim system for its drivers. Business and personal motorists alike are considered more at risk of being defrauded when using a credit card, than those who use fuel cards to purchase diesel and petrol. Also, every year hundreds of motorists suffer from scams whilst purchasing their fuel. With credit and debit card cloning on the rise experts urge businesses to use Fuel Cards to protect their company accounts. Motorists that use credit and debit cards are more prone to scams and cloning because the cards carry bank details- unlike a Fuel Card.

In direct response to this more and more businesses are equipping themselves with tools to fight against rising fuel prices and to minimize spending. Fuel Cards are now considered to be the first port of call to help battle diesel and petrol prices and manage fuel expenditure.

For employers, Fuel Cards enable more secure transactions; with drivers only able to purchase fuel for their vehicle, they cannot purchase any other goods, nor can they withdraw money from ATMs with the Fuel Card. Employers can also monitor the fuel purchases, which will help eliminate drivers who may chance filling their personal vehicle.

Briefly explained, a Fuel Card looks and works in a similar way to a credit card but with a few fundamental differences. Firstly, it is usually restricted to only allow the purchase of diesel/fuel (though some cards can be set up to allow purchases of non fuel related items if required); secondly, when it is used to make a purchase, both the vehicle registration (compulsory) and mileage (optional) are recorded against the respective transactions. Finally, your Fuel Card invoice also doubles up as a fuel management report, showing date/time/place of each sale, registration number (and mileage if required) of the vehicle collecting the fuel and of course how much was drawn. It will also then go on to separate the VAT element of all transactions for you.

You will also have direct access to our Station Locator which gives you concise information of where your vehicles can fill their tanks.

Also did you know we will save you a guaranteed 3 pence per litre on diesel pump prices when using one of our Fuel Cards?
