The Fleet Safety Conference and Awards is a prestigious and not-for-profit annual event organised by Brake, the road safety charity, with the support of our sponsors. It takes place on Thursday 13 June 2013.
The event brings together fleet safety managers and suppliers from across the UK to celebrate and share best practice in managing road risk to stop needless deaths and injuries on roads.
The gala awards dinner and one day conference have previously been run as two separate events. In 2013 Brake is bringing these two events together to reduce carbon miles travelled by participants.
The charity is also urging companies in the South West to improve the safety of their drivers by attending a training course on Tuesday 23 April 2013 to help them to spread road safety messages.
The Fleet Safety Forum, a not-for-profit-initiative by Brake, and Colas Ltd are working together to improve the safety of at-work drivers and other road users in the South West through Brake’s Pledge campaign.
In Great Britain, 10 people are killed each week and 100 injured in crashes involving people driving for work. Brake’s Pledge campaign aims to combat this by appealing to people who drive for work to do so with the utmost care and attention, protecting themselves and other road users.
Managers working for companies that employ people who drive for work, and community campaigners, are invited to attend the Pledge course, to be held in Bristol. This course offers training and practical tools to enable participants to pass on effective and engaging safe driving messages to people who drive for work.
The course costs £75+VAT and includes a free subscription for one year to Brake’s Fleet Safety Forum (normally £155+VAT), for more information and to book online.
